Wake Forest head coach Jeff Bzdelik has suspended both Melvin Tabb and Ty Walker for a violation of departmental rules.

Walker, who was once a highly-touted recruit, is preparing for his senior season at Wake Forest, while Tabb is coming off a disappointing freshman campaign.

Although, it is not clear what the violations were, the two have been suspended for an indefinite amount of time.

Walker, a 7-foot North Carolina native, has certainly not lived up to the hype that once surrounded him. ESPNU had Walker ranked at No. 58 coming out of high school in 2008.

The senior-to-be averaged a career-high 3.6 points per game this past season, but Walker has played in only 50 games in his three years in Winston-Salem.

As for Tabb, he appeared in only 14 games as a freshman this past year, averaging 1.6 points per contest. The 6-foot-8 forward was dismissed from the team for the remainder of the season back on February 8th for conduct detrimental to the team.

Tabb also missed four games at the end of the fall semester for academic reasons.

After a dismal season in Winston-Salem, coach Bzdelik is preparing for his second year at the helm and the off-the-court issues surrounding both Walker and Tabb are not helpful.

The Demon Deacons finished the 2010-2011 season at 8-24 overall, while winning only one game within the ACC Conference.

The good news moving forward is that freshmen J.T. Terrell and Travis McKie were the team's leading scorers this past season. Alongside the pair and junior-to-be C.J. Harris, the Demon Deacons return three of their four double-digit scorers from a season ago.
