Wake Forest transfer Tony Woods, a former Top-50 recruit, decided to transfer from the Winston-Salem campus following his dismissal from the team last October.
After taking visits to Kentucky, Texas, and Louisville over the course of the past few months, Woods made his decision known in favor of the Oregon on Friday.
Woods will be eligible to play immediately for Oregon, given his summer academics clear.
Alongside Woods and a recruiting class highlighted by Jabari Brown, Oregon could be expected to make a leap within the newly formed Pac-12 this upcoming season.
Oregon head coach Dana Altman welcomed Woods on a visit to the Eugene campus three weeks ago.
The big man struggled in his time at Wake Forest, averaging a career-high 4.6 points per game as a sophomore prior to his dismissal from the team. He was arrested and accused of two misdemeanor charges for pushing his girlfriend in September, but ultimately reached a plea agreement in the case.
Woods is currently finishing up his requirements at Georgia Highlands College, while an associate degree from Jefferson Community and Technical College (KY) will help pave his academic steps into Oregon.
At 6-foot-11, Woods is in a position where he may instantly be able to impact the Ducks next season, a team that has not made the NCAA Tournament since 2008.
This past year, the Ducks qualified and won the CBI Championship, defeating Creighton in a best-of-three series. In 2011-2012, Oregon has their mind set on bigger goals.
Among those he visited, Woods had also received interest from Auburn, Texas Tech, Cincinnati, and Xavier.
