Washington Huskies defensive line coach Tosh Lupoi was accused of breaking NCAA rules. He was accused of paying for a football players online class and tutoring. The recruit in question is Andrew Basham. Basham signed with the Huskies but did not meet the academic requirements to enter school. A throwing coach named Mike Davis claimed Lupoi gave him $3,000 for the tutoring of Basham. NCAA rules prohibit universities from providing financial compensation for prospects academics. On Thursday the Huskies coach tweeted “I look forward to an honest and thorough investigation.” Washington said that they are looking into the allegations of recruiting violations. Lupoi also said the allegations are “untrue attacks”   Tosh Lupoi: “I won’t let these sorts of untrue attacks break my focus! I look forward to an honest and thorough investigation.” #UW #USC — Bruce Feldman (@BFeldmanCBS) December 19, 2013 If the allegations against Lupoi are true, I honestly do not think it’s that bad. All he really did was try and hel a kid chase his dreams. On the other hand, rules are rules and as a coach, he was completely aware that what he was doing was illegal. These violations took place under new USC head coach Steve Sarkisian who claims he had no knowledge of the alleged violation. If Tosh Lupoi is found guilty I wonder if Sark get some of those sanctions? Anyway, with the way the NCAA investigates, we will probably be waiting for a while to see any punishment here. Tosh Lupoi flagged 4 a minor violation a yr ago>curious if NCAA considers HC has added responsibility to keep closer eye on asst after that. — Bruce Feldman (@BFeldmanCBS) December 19, 2013   Quotes from Steve Sarkisian on @ArashMarkazi‘s timeline. Looks like he is gonna roll that bus right over Tosh Lupoi if he can. — Dan Wolken (@DanWolken) December 19, 2013 The post Washington Huskies Assistant Coach Under NCAA Investigation appeared first on UTN Sports.
