Thursday night, the NBA draft concluded with a slew of talented college players left out. This draft also marked the longest point in the history of the draft that it took for a senior to be drafted --23rd--by a large margin. It also marked the first time since 1976 that a AP first-team All-American went undrafted despite being eligible. I understand the significance behind this statistic, but how can anyone be more than mildly surprised that no team wanted to take Scottie Reynolds? Sure, Scottie was a fine college player who stunned the county when he took Nova to the Final Four as a junior, but college success doesn't measure anywhere near potential does at this point in the game. Reynolds lacks the necessary skills you need to be a solid point guard in the NBA and at 6'1" doesn't come close to the height you need to play shooting guard.
