Woodall, Gibbs and Pitt's improving guard play

Pitt's win over Villanova was important for a few reasons, not the least of which was that it kept Pitt on track for an NCAA tournament berth. Like Pitt, Villanova has had its struggles this year, entering the game 3-7 in the Big East. But unlike Pitt, Villanova wasn't able to capitalize in a game of runs. Pitt led by 18 in the second half, got careless and allowed Nova to whittle it down, but ultimately, the Wildcats couldn't cross the finish line. But that doesn't mean Villanova didn't make things interesting down the stretch (via the PG): Villanova (10-13, 3-8) made the game interesting in the final minute after getting behind by 18 in the early stages of the second half.
