FAIRBORN -- Wright State's hopes of becoming the first school from Ohio to qualify for this year's NCAA tournament fell short on Tuesday night as Milwaukee led throughout to post a 69-63 victory in the Horizon League final at the Nutter Center.
The 21-13 Panthers, who were the fifth seed in the tournament, are NCAA bound for the fifth time in school history. They led by as many as 18 midway through the first half. The Raiders got within four on a couple occasions, including 67-63 with 1:03 remaining, but were never able to get any closer.
Kyle Keim led Milwaukee with 20 points and nine rebounds. Jordan Aaron added 18 points and Austin Arains 12.
AJ Pacher had 16 points for Wright State and Matt Vest 11.
Wright State, who was the third seed, was hoping to make its third NCAA appearance and first since since 2007, are 20-14.
