Armon Bassett, the subject of an excellent piece written by Chris Korman in yesterday?s Herald-Times, has enrolled at Ohio University. Here?s an excerpt from the press release: Ohio University head men?s basketball coach John Groce announced on Friday that guard Armon Bassett has enrolled at the University for the winter quarter and will begin competing for the [...]

According to an article in the IndyStar, former Hoosier Eric Gordon made comments that drugs caused problems on the IU team in 2007 under former coach Kelvin Sampson. Dan Dakich rules Joe Hillman on Indianapolis radio

Last year, Dan Dakich was at the unfortunate intersection of the Kelvin Sampson fallout a?" and the issues Sampson's kids had both been dealt and had created for themselves a?" and Dakich was the one that eventually kicked Armon Bassett and Jamarcus Ellis off the team. Heartbreak, Illini Style

As I hinted at in yesterday's piece, everyone with a glimpse of sanity in their heads knew that the Hoosiers were the far superior basketball team. Better players. Better athletes. Better coach. Nothing new there. However, throughout the entire first half — one in which superstar Eric Gordon was limited to one point — it felt damn good to be a member of Illini nation...
