Nova Lands 4-Star PF Jayvaughn Pinkston
I'm going to start posting on any big recruiting news for the Wildcats, and Jay Wright helped me out by landing Jayvaughn Pinkston, a highly ranked 2010 PF from Brooklyn, NY.
This is a significant signing for many reasons.
First, it is the 3rd highly ranked big man Jay has landed in the last 2 years (Yarou and Marcus Kennedy) showing that Nova might not just be a guard school...

Blazers Hope Cunningham Can Be A Wildcat For Them! Sign Rookie To Contract
New York Vinnie was very impressed last March when forward Dante Cunningham led Villanova past the UCLA Bruins to get his team into the “Sweet Sixteen” with an 89-69 win. Cunningham led his team that game with a double-double with a line score that read 18 points, 10 boards, 2 assists, 2 steals and 1 block.

Ty Lawson: The Early Years
Since folks have already been talking about here is the always excellent Luke Winn and his column on Ty Lawson and Villanova’s Dante Cunningham back when they played together on the same youth basketball team coached by their fathers at Andrews AFB in Maryland.
The Andrews Magic went 80-7 over an eight-year span that began in ‘95, regularly “playing up&rdquo...

This Week's Links (3/30-4/3)
I've started collecting various analysts' win projections. So far I have Sheehan, CHONE, SI, PECOTA, the O/Us, Fox Sports (ALE, ALC, NLC, NLW, haven't found the other two), all the great stuff RLYW did, and Bert Blyleven's (!). Apparently ESPN is not having their guys do them this year (pathetic), and Yahoo's will be up over the weekend. If you come across...

Super Nova! Wildcats Maul Bruins 89-69
Villanova Wildcats forward Dante Cunningham led six members of his team in double figures with 18 points and the Wildcats destroyed the UCLA Bruins Saturday 89-69. Villanova looked like a team on a mission as they were kicking butt and taking names from beginning to end. The victory propels the number three seed to next [...]

Wildcats Devour Eagles In Big Second Half Come Back 80-67
American University looked like they were on their way to a huge upset Thursday in the first half of their game against number three seed Villanova. The Eagles walked, or rather floated into the locker room at the half leading the Wildcats 41-31. However reality set in during the second half of the contest and Villanova came back to defeat the number 14 seed Eagles 80-67. The Wildcats...

Villanova vs. Texas: The Jay Wright Machine!
It's starting to feel like college basketball season, yo. My favorite teams are Villanova, North Carolina, Syracuse and whichever team is playing Duke. Tonight Villanova and the Jay Wright Machine has its first big game, against Texas at Madison Square Garden. I'm confident that my alma mater is going to take care of business against the Longhorns.
There are rumors floating...

March Madness
It's that time again March Madness fans, and I can't wait to get started. Every year we witness a bunch of upsets that we just can't figure out how they happened. This year it will be no different. As I look over my brackets I can't help but notice a few favorable matchups for lower seeds in the 5 vs. 12s, 6 vs. 11s and 7 vs. 10s.
That's why I start with the...
