Who's Better? '09 UNC vs '10 Duke
The title of NCAA Basketball Champion moved eight miles down the road from Chapel Hill to Durham, NC. Since I was watching "Battle on Tobacco Road" on HBO last week, it got me thinking ... which of these championship teams was better?Back when this happened before (Duke won in '91 and '92; UNC won in '93), it was obvious who the better team was. Those Duke title...

Before breaking his wrist February 10th, Davis had averaged 13 points and 9 rebounds per game in 24 games for the Tar Heels. North Carolina’s Ed Davis To Enter NBA Draft
Ed Davis, a 6′9 Sophomore Forward has declared for the NBA draft according to the University of North Carolina. Davis’ Tar Heels had a disappointing season and although Davis had solid numbers (12.9 points, 9.2 rebounds, 2.7 blocks per game), his individual sophomore season was also considered a disappointment after he showed flashes of brilliance [...]

North Carolina's Ed Davis Declares For 2010 NBA Draft
North Carolina's star forward will take his game to the NBA after missing the last 13 games of his sophomore season with a wrist injury. Davis is likely a lottery pick in the 2010 NBA Draft, but has a lot to prove to scouts after missing the second half of the ACC season.

UNC: Ed Davis Has Cast Removed
Ed Davis said on Twitter that the cast on his broken left wrist would be coming off today. The assumption is that he will then start rehab to get it back into playing shape. The first thought that jumps into the minds of some fans is that Davis might be available for UNC’s NIT Semifinal game in New York. It is extremely doubtful Davis would be cleared medically to do much...

Roy Williams’ take on the Ed Davis controversy
Roy Williams first heard about the controversy surrounding star forward Ed Davis early Thursday morning when North Carolina sports information director Steve Kirshner paid a visit to his office to let him know what was going on. “It’s not real good when Steve somes in and says ‘I have to talk to you about this,’ ” Williams recalled a day later. In this case, the bad news...

Has North Carolina's Ed Davis signed with an agent?
Is North Carolina's Ed Davis turning pro? Well, for a few minutes Thursday morning it sure looked that way. Chicago-based PTA Sports Management briefly had Davis listed among its basketball clients on its Web site early Thursday morning, but founder Vincent Porter insists his agency has no written or oral agreement with the sophomore forward. Instead Porter suggested that someone...

Domination.
I am shocked it was this kind of game. I expected a tougher battle and a win by single digits. UNC is in a terrific groove right now. With a great deal of concern heading into this game over whether Ty Lawson would be effective. Do we need to talk about it anymore? Anyone? I did not think so. Lawson came out and seized...

Jeff Goodman? Ty Lawson will accept your apology now.
It was a gutty effort from a player much maligned for his toughness. I imagine that will never happen again. Ty Lawson came out in the 2nd half after exhibiting some rust and dealing with pain, to score 21 of his 23 points carrying the Heels at a point when LSU was making a run. Lawson hit two threes...

Looking Back: UNC 101, Duke 87
First off, I want to dispel two rumors about this game: 1) that Duke had its first-half successes against the Tar Heel bench, and 2) that the Tar Heels stayed fresher toward the end of the game due to better bench use.
As to the first, Carolina led 31-24 with 8:39 to play, and there was a ball knocked out of bounds. The Heels make a couple subs, and go with Lawson, Frasor, Green...
