Since landing in New Zealand a couple of months ago, former Cardinal shooting guard Jerry Smith has propelled himself to the top of the National Basketball League player rankings. Smith spent some time in the NBA D-League, before signing with the Waikato Pistons in April. In 13 games for the Pistons, Smith has averaged 19.4 points. 4.5 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 2.7 steals.

Edgar Sosa and Jerry Smith scored 17 points apiece to pace six Louisville players in double figures as the Cardinals routed Western Kentucky 102-75 on Saturday.
