Timberwolves ink second overall pick Williams to deal
The Minnesota Timberwolves signed second overall pick Derrick Williams to a rookie deal on Monday.
A 6-foot-8, 241-pound forward out of Arizona, Williams is expected to contribute right away for the lowly Timberwolves.
Williams, who had participated in the first three days of the team's training camp, averaged 19.5 points and 8.3 rebounds as a sophomore with the Wildcats.
