SCOTTIE WILBEKIN RUMORS

Kentucky Commit Tyler Ulis Doesn’t Think Scottie Wilbekin Is Any Good

Florida point guard Scottie Wilbekin, who was named SEC Player of the Year this season, is having a rough outing in the National Semifinal against UConn. The senior only has four points on 2-of-7 shooting, and is having major issues with UConn’s quick guards Shabazz Napier and Ryan Boatright. Wilbekin has been great for Florida all year, but he hasn’t made a fan of one young...

Mr. Clutch Scottie Wilbekin leads Florida to first Final Four appearance since 2007

MEMPHIS, Tenn. -- For a brief second, it looked as if Scottie Wilbekin was going to fire another 3-pointer after Dorian Finney-Smith grabbed an offensive rebound off Michael Frazier II's missed 3-pointer in the final minute of the first half. But Wilbekin, Florida's floor leader and Mr. Clutch, took a quick glance at the clock. He realized the Gators could play for the final...

Florida Basketball: Wilbekin leads Gators to Sweet 16

Overcoming adversity is never easy an easy feat. Florida Basketball point guard Scottie Wilbekin certainly makes it seem that way, however. In his first three seasons with the Gators, he earned himself three separate suspensions for violation of team rules, with two of them coming in a seven-month span during his junior year. Heading into the 2014 season, he had lost the trust of...

Scottie Wilbekin -- who else? -- helps revitalize Gators to move on in tourney

ORLANDO, Fla. -- The play is called a "flat" and in an end-of-clock situation (like with 4.3 seconds to go before halftime Saturday, for example), Florida inbounds the ball to Scottie Wilbekin and just lets him take off and try to get something, anything. Wilbekin dashed up the floor, weaved past a Pittsburgh defender, sped head-on into the Panthers defense, took off of...

Yet again, Scottie Wilbekin comes up clutch to help Gators thrive

ATLANTA -- In his first game since being named SEC Player of the Year, Scottie Wilbekin showed everyone why. Wilbekin's importance to the Gators was on clear display in each half of Florida's 72-49 victory over Missouri on Friday in the SEC Tournament quarterfinals. If not for Wilbekin's perfection from 3-point range in the first half -- Wilbekin made all three of his...
