Trevor Releford scored 24 points and the host Crimson Tide ended the Razorbacks’ six-game winning streak with a dominant first half.
Shannon Hale added 18 points off the bench for Alabama (13-18, 7-11 SEC), which held the Razorbacks (21-10, 10-8) to one field goal in a nine-minute span of the opening half, outscoring Arkansas 21-3 en route to a 39-16 halftime advantage. Levi Randolph...
Make no mistake about it, Alabama’s 83-58 romp over Arkansas Saturday was great fun. And it was oh so fine for Trevor Releford to add to his resume as a deserving Southeastern Conference Player of the Year candidate on Senior Day. But was it in Bama’s best interest to earn the No. 10 seed and the first day bye that comes with it for this week’s SEC Tournament?
Things may be changing for the better for Trevor Releford as a candidate for Southeastern Conference Player of the Year. Although the award usually goes to the star of the best team, or at least one of the top teams, despite a poor season by Alabama, Releford has been outstanding.
Arkansas Basketball: They’re hungry
Arkansas is hungry. They want it and they want it bad.
What is “it” exactly? It’s easy; they just want to win. They finally have that winning mentality that Arkansas basketball has lacked for several years.
Arkansas ran over Ole Miss Wednesday night in Bud Walton Arena. The final score was 110-80 but it wasn’t that close. With 12:01...
Alabama's record says plenty about the season's challenges.
But so do the latest national rankings.
The Crimson Tide (11-16, 5-9 Southeastern Conference) enters Wednesday night's visit to Mississippi (16-11, 7-7) already assured of its first losing regular-season mark since 1999-2000, Mark Gottfried's second season.
Most of the blame can go toward deficiencies...

Trevor Releford is almost a lock to repeat as a first team All-Southeastern Conference Player. The feel good story of the year in SEC men’s basketball would be if Releford is selected SEC Player of the Year. But that’s not likely because Alabama is not a very good basketball team. And history says it will have a little worse record over the next week.
Trevor Releford doesn’t play at Kansas like his older brother, Travis, used to, but he makes the most of his opportunities at Alabama. The 6’0” guard hit a game winner from downtown on Tuesday night against Marshall Henderson and Ole Miss with less than a second remaining in overtime.
Releford (18.7 PPG) definitely has an NBA future and will undoubtedly be invited to at least...
Trevor Releford made a 3-pointer from the top of the key with 0.6 seconds left to lift Alabama to a 67-64 victory over Mississippi on Tuesday night.
Releford scored 21 of his 26 points in the second half before delivering the final shot that helped snap a four-game losing streak for the Crimson Tide (10-14, 4-7 Southeastern Conference).
He accounted for 14 of Alabama's 16 points...

There’s something about a basketball game having two halves, and about Alabama sometimes playing well in just one of them this season. Trevor Releford didn’t have a great first half against Ole Miss Tuesday night, but what a second half. And particularly what a final second. His three-point shot with :00.6 gave Bama a 67-64 win over the Rebels in Coleman Coliseum Tuesday night.
FROM LONG RANGE
With time expiring on the game and Alabama's season, Trevor Releford hit a beautiful buzzer-beater to shock the Georgia Bulldogs.
