Florida forward Will Yeguete missed six games during Southeastern Conference play last season with a knee injury, and he had another surgery on Wednesday morning to clean up the same knee. The initial timetable for recovery is four months, which would put him back in time to start practice with the Gators.

It may have been beaten to death already, but you really can’t overstate the importance of some players on a roster. One guy that doesn’t even start at Florida seems to have such a profound impact on the team when he is available, that his value may not ever be understood. Will Yeguete missed quite a few games this season, but is rounding into form and becoming a difference maker again.

He’s missed six full games plus all but one minute of a seventh and he is very happy to get back on the court. Still, Florida junior forward Will Yeguete knows he can’t rush things. He has to take playing time as it comes and feels comfortable and the worst thing he can do is rush back to the court and have a setback because of it.

The hope for Florida was to get the entire team healthy by the time the SEC Tournament started.
