GatorSports.com:
Louisiana State is No. 1 in the Associated Press poll for the first time since 1959, a ranking that coach Les Miles finds flattering but premature.
Miles speaks of his players as if he is molding clay, knowing the Tigers (5-0) have yet to be fired in the kiln of the Southeastern Conference. The team's unfinished nature is particularly evident at quarterback. LSU's chances of winning a national championship could rest, in large part, on the emergence of a backup whom Miles has yet to fully utilize or trust.
Matt Flynn, a fifth-year senior, and Ryan Perrilloux, a redshirt sophomore, will share time Saturday here against Florida, just as the Gators alternated Chris Leak and Tim Tebow in winning the national championship last season.
