Rodney Hudson-OG-Florida State: 6’2″ #291

Strengths-Hudson is a technically and fundamentally sound lineman.  Shows excellent leg drive in the run game.  Nice job getting to the second level.  Is very adept at pulling and trapping.  Almost always in excellent position.  Able to routinely get under the pads of his opponents and play with leverage.  Does a great job steering his man where he wants him to go.  Able to sink hips and plays with great balance.  Very durable with 48 career starts.  Plays with excellent hand placement and is able to execute multiple blocking assignments.  Gets into position very quickly.

Weaknesses-Hudson’s main problem is size.  He may have some trouble handling the bigger DT and 3-4 NT in the NFL.  His sub 300 ponds may struggle to handle the biggest of the big.  However he does display elite fundamentals.  He looks soft without his shirt on and could benefit from an NFL weight program.

NFR Draft Analysis-Hudson is one of the top 3 interior lineman in the upcoming draft.  He can play Guard or Center, so he has position versatility.  If Hudson shows the ability to add weight through muscle he could be the first Guard taken in the 2011 draft.  He should come off the board somewhere in the last ten picks of the first round.
