Head Coach: Mark Dantonio
Mark Dantonio is going into his 6th year as head coach. He has had the Spartans on the brink of going to a BCS bowl game the past two seasons. In his first season, Dantonio brought the rebuilding team to a bowl. He has since brought the Spartans to a bowl five times, never missing out on postseason play since he became head coach. Last year, the Spartans earned their first bowl win since 2001.
Analysis of the Offense:
The Spartans are only returning 4 starters on the offense. The biggest lost might be their 3 year starter and 3 time captain in quarterback Kirk Cousins. They are also losing running back Edwin Baker, all 3 wide receivers; B.J. Cunningham, Keshawn Martin, and Keith Nichol, and offensive lineman Joel Forman. Last year, MSU’s main concern was their offensive line, however this year, it will be a huge strength of their team.
