Quarterback Ryan Nassib, Syracuse Height: 6-2 Weight: 223As a senior in 2012 at Syracuse, Nassib completed 62 percent of his passes for 3,749 yards, 26 touchdowns and 10 interceptions. He only ran the bal 85 times for 137 yards. His junior season was equally impressive with a completion rate of 62 percent, totaling 2,685 yards with 22 touchdowns and nine interceptions. Nassib also ran for 155 yards and two scores. Nassib completed 56 percent of his passes as a first-year starter in 2010, totaling 2,334 yards with 19 touchdowns and eight interceptions. He ran for 255 yards as well.Strengths:Nassib has shown the ability to throw from the pocket, avoid pressure, and throw on the run. He can get the ball out quickly and with decent accuracy. Nassib has the arm to put the ball deep, but also runs the ball very well.Weaknesses:Ryan often throws from off-balance positions, which has shown to be risky in the NFL. He also can get flustered under pressure as at the Senior Bowl, where he looked inconsistent.Potential Landing Spots:Teams will not be clamoring for quarterbacks, but Nassib should find himself one of the top five QBs, maybe even No. 1 or 2 as a developmental project. I see a team like Buffalo grabbing him as a backup to newly-acquired Kevin Kolb. The Jaguars might also make the same move for him.Draft Projection:Solid second round, possibly near the beginning of the day.NFL Comparison:He looks a lot like Chad Henne, and even posted similar numbers in college. Both QBs also had times where they struggled, but still managed to have relative success in college. It is unlikely that Nassib will win a starting job wherever he does land, which bodes well for his development as an eventual starter in the NFL.
