6 Vols ineligible for the Outback Bowl due to academics

The Tennessee Volunteers will suffer from a similar fate as the Florida St. Seminoles, after 6 of their players were ruled academically ineligible after the fall semesters conclusion. The starters sidelined are WR Lucas Taylor, DT Demonte Bolden and LB Rico McCoy. This is what coach Phil Fulmer had to say about the situation: "We have every resource available through our academic center for academic success by our athletes in all of our sports," he said in a statement released by the sports information office. "In most of these cases, it was simply the student-athlete not being accountable and doing their work."
