PLAYERS: Rex Burkhead

Get a tissue. This young child here is 7-year-old Jack Hoffman. He is a a cancer patient fighting for his life. He was diagnosed at a young age with a brain tumor and is a huge Nebraska Cornhusker fan. Last year, along with former running back Rex Burkhead, he raised awareness for the disease. The Cornhusker family has not left his side, even though Burkhead has moved on towards the NFL. They not only invited Jack to their Spring Game, but they put him into play. One a 4th-and-1 situation, Jack received a handoff and sprinting down the far sideline with a caravan of blockers: How awesome was that? Especially when the players all rushed the field after he scored. That’s some pretty awesome some stuff to see from a college sports team after all the nonsense we saw this past week.
