Patriots Nation:
Boston College won its third NCAA championship Saturday against Notre Dame, 4-1. The Eagles' Nathan Gerbe was instrumental in all four goals, scoring twice and assisting on two others. Gerbe, who was named the tournament's most outstanding player, also had a hat trick and an assist in the semifinals against North Dakota. He scored five goals in the Frozen Four, the most since 1977. Gerbe finished second to Michigan's Kevin Porter on Friday in the voting for the college hockey player of the year.
