College Football: LSU vs Ohio State BCS title game preview

The biggest day in College Football has finally arrived, tonight the LSU Tigers will face the Ohio State Buckeyes to see who will hold up the crystal BCS championship trophy. However, from most people I talk to it seems as though playing the game is just a formality as many feel LSU will roll over Ohio State - just like the Florida Gators did last year. I would be careful of getting caught up in that type of thinking if I were LSU. Why? Ohio State has two very dangerous things on their side...

Come on Kieran...first off Ohio State if a great team. Secondly I dont know many people who are predicting a big LSU win. It is going to be a great game. Your just pissed Notre Dame is at home all bowl season.

HAHAHA truth hurts dont it Sean. ND sucks and that is all that matters. Go Tigers

I just added the ND fight song as my incoming ringer - feel free to never call my cell phone again.

LSU doesn't have the all-around Gator speed of last year's game/team...OSU by a hair

They didn't have any hair left.........LOL. Thought OSU was going to come out and smoke them, but it sure turned fast. LSU was ready for them.

it's that SEC speed...lesson learneth: never doubt the SEC factor, ever

That's 3 national titles since 2003, so they must be doing something right. Playing in your own back yard is part of the problem. That's two for LSU at the dome.

This is why I would love to see more inter-conference regular season games. I know it will never happen but who wouldnt want to see LSU come to the big house?

the SEC is still, top to bottom, the best conference in the land...after all these years it's still true, and that fact is annually disputed...they get more tough by playing each other hard...then waste BCS teams in the big game alot...against those BCS opponents who play in their conference against, maybe, four good teams...Tuscaloosa is a great place to watch the Tide v. whoever...electric place, so is Death Valley, all SEC stadiums

I expect the Buckeyes to come prepared. They were lets face it flat out embarrasing last year. After Ginn returned the opening kickoff for a touchdown and got hurt it went south fast. Troy Smith had no time to do anything against that defensive front...kinda reminds me of Colt Brennan this year. I see that the country as a whole thinks OSU is going to get pounded. I still say you cant count the defense out.. Remmember they do have the number one ranked defense and a potent run game. The wideouts are pretty good also. Im just saying that this should be a good game either way and the Bucs will be better prepared then they were last year..

They better start getting prepared for the second half. The steamroller has started its engine.

I agree...as I have been saying doing overlook Ohio state

A change of subject Kieranhawe who will start for the fighting irish next year? Claussen (dont torch me if the spelling is off)? I have a buddy whom is a die hard ND fan. He told me that Claussen showed up before the season started in a Limo (to school) if thats the case hopefully he has come down to earth.... Go Bucks.

Clausen will start for the Irish...Weis has already said he is the QB of the future and yes he did show up in a limo but it was when he announced what school he was attending. Oh and he announced it at the College football hall of fame...yeah not a typical irish entrance if you ask me.

If they don't win next year with the recruiting class they have coming in, Weiss will need a limo out of there.

If Weis doesnt finished next year with a major bowl he should be canned.

that incoming crop does look packed...Bowl game next year

LSU 28, OSU 24

you were almost right on the money

Actually, never thought LSU would hold OSU down like they did, but once they got the momentum, they just didn't let go. I shouldn't say it, but here it goes, just like LSU did against the Irish last year. That was ugly.

To all OSU fans.......be afraid....very afraid.

Steamroller got going and didn't slow down. 38 points against the vaunted #1 defense was pretty impressive.

lack of speed has always killed Big Ten

That's all I heard the last 3 weeks was how OSU was not going to be outspeeded. Actually, it wasn't so much the speed as it was smashmouth football. They got beaten soundly on both sides of the ball.

Once again Tressel was outcoached. Not to mention that the QB is a wuss. The defense was dissapointing. How may 3rd and 1 did LSU have? Sad. They did have every opportunity to win the game. They just could not execute.

They just got outmuscled on both sides of the ball. Great game plan by the LSU coaches.

I agree with you...this game was won by coaching. Like i thought Ohio State had a "shot" but in the end LSU was just better

was there ever any doubt????

After OSU got ahead by 10, there was. They had a chance to get ahead by more, but didn't do it. No killer instinct, I guess.

Now that the season is fianlly over we can start talking about how god ND will be next year.

If they are not good, you better change your name..........LOL. Just kidding. They have another stud QB coming out of California to give Claussen some competition. That should help.

the problem is the Irish are stacked with young talent that needs experience...the new class coming in will have to learn really fast.

Do we need to send Bill Belichik there to help? Ohhhhhhhhhh...........that should wake you up this morning. Lots of talent coming into the N.D. If Weiss is head coaching material, he should win more games next year. Should have won more this year. Some coaches are just better offensive coordinators. Guess we'll find out in September.

OUCH! Weis has lost some credit in my eye but like you said we will have to wait until september.

curious...do you dislike B.C. as a fellow Catholic College rivalry, or respect them? also, I will never forget that 89' team with Mr. Holtz...that was a great team...overall, good for CF to have ND in the mix consistently...don't give up on Weis yet either, he's a good Football mind

I dont like BC because they left the Big East...the only conference I care about. I agree that CF benefits from having ND up top...its like the Yankees, when they are winning and in teh World Series everyone is watching (because they love them or hate them)

still an annual rivalry going aways back...like it best when they both are good...both teams get jacked for that game now
