PULLMAN — It was a year ago, before a single game had been played under new coach Paul Wulff and a revamped Washington State coaching staff, when Chima Nwachukwu sensed that something was amiss with the Cougars football team.
Players questioned the demands of the coaches. Coaches questioned the commitment of the players. Offensive players struggled to adapt to the newly installed no-huddle scheme. Defensive players often failed to line up properly before the snap of the ball.
