The Eagles played preseason game #2 and here are some game notes. 0-10 at halftime -- 24-13 FINAL SCORE. Kolb lead the comeback train!!! I loved what I saw from Kevin Kolb. DeSean Jackson had 2 "rookie mistakes," but I loved the other stuff I saw from the guy. McDougle continues to impress. Hunt had a 50+ yard run. Read the FULL game notes...

Abiamiri goes on IR, and McDougle makes the 53 man roster. Hopefully.

Wow what a difference the rain made.
  • 5forlife
With out it we play great if only the number 1 offense had this kind of weather.

yeah, maybe some of the Wide Outs could of actually caught a ball.
  • 5forlife
    I know
  • 5forlife
I mean McNabb was throwing beauty's all day except the one that got away when Curtis was open and even then the ball was wet and Curtis could have jumped but the Wide Outs couldn't catch.

The '07 draft class is looking pretty damn good.

The defense looks great! "Q' is really stepping up. He's all over the field and laying some hits. Our secondary is awesome we need to forget about trading Lito. Desean is stepping up and turning into that receiver we've been looking for.

BRINKSTER, I totally agree with DeSean stepping up. He is giving me a great feeling about this year.
Now if the first string offense could finish off their possesions with some td's with this new receiver, I'll be happy!
  • Spotella no need for a new receiver.... we have what we need, we just need everyone to EXECUTE!!! BRINKSTER "Q" is going to the pro bowl!!!! DeSean looked great - great speed, great routes - but too many rookie mistakes. I think he'll be ready to play for the start of the regular season if Andy plays him for the entire next to games. He has to get that experience!!!! Lito is here to stay, they wont let go of him, and they shouldn't. We have the best secondary with him. I don't think may teams have as much depth as we have on defense. If you think about it, defense only gave up 6 points.

djw I never said we need a new receiver, I said we need to score with the ones we have!
    • Misread it..... Sorry

Yeah but we are not going to show our offensive game plan in the preseason just the basics. Did you notice the offense openning up more this game then the last. It's just the preseason there is no need to worry. Wait until the next game which is the last you'll see the starters actually play in for a good chunk of time until the home opener.

for the most part they looked good minus the obvius dropped passes, was it just me or did Kolb have a few throws where he looked like he was scared to get hit?

before the rain the eagles offense and defense both looked real good
and ya kevin kolb played very well i was impressed and hopefully he'll keep improving and be able to step in after another 4-5 years when donovan leaves his mark on the nfl

I'd like to see that too ct. I also want him to be able to go in for McNabb if he gets hurt again~I hope he doesn't, but McNabb plays so hard, he's bound to.

we learned that desean has an endless motor. he returned like a 20 yards punt then goes out on offense and catches 7 passes. but for this offense to be great reggie brown will really have to step up, or else defenses will just play bump against lil ol' curtis n jackson.
  • My pick for NFL MVP: QB Donovan McNabb
My pick for NFL Rookie of the Year: WR/PR DeSean Jackson

ya injuries are always a risk because donovan never backs away from a hit, but he seems like he's got that hop back in his step and it feels alot like the 2004 season when he went absolty off.
this could be an mvp year for mcnabb, and im not saying that as an eagles fan but as a football fan
  • phillyfannaz
all i got to say is the defense really showed what kind of force they are going to be in the regular season played really well even the reserves and how bout Lito getting that INT. Hopefully he will stay healthy all year and the eagles will give him that deal he has been looking for. The first team offense looked good before the rain but after that they were sloppy but mcnabb looked pretty good unlike you 5forlife no way curtis jumps up to catch that mcnabb pass that was way overthrown but overall i liked the eagles effort and liked the fact that kolb and the reserves didnt give up and played well. Greg Lewis better enjoy preseason because that is probably the last time we see him in the end zone.
  • tomk23
j actually like mcdougle he never really showed anything on the field so we really dont know if he is a 1st round talent or not hopefully he is because then we will have a surprise. I hate Kevin Kolb always will end of story lol. Desean is impressing me alot i like him i try 2 forget that we cudda had my favorite WR in the draft but he is really good so im happy...

Kolb has impressed, I'm expecting big things from him down the road, ( 4-5 years), We do however, have to keep in mind that Houston has produced High expectation Quarter Backs before who haven't lived up to the bill. Also Reid was the QB coach in GB starting in 1997, and therefore, had no hand in bringing in Favre, despite some beliefs.
