OK, we both know that this is odd, an Oakland Raiders writer doing a positive story on a Denver Broncos quarterback. Jay Cutler's recent admission of his diagnosis of type one diabetes caught my attention as someone has several diabetics in my family.

KCNC-TV reports that the Broncos QB revealed that he's been diagnosed with Type 1 of the disease. Cutler learned of his medical condition two weeks ago & announced it to the media Thursday evening. Now Jay must undergo daily insulin shots & be extra-careful with his diet.
We will certainly be praying for him, as will Wilford Brimley.

The Ravens lost yesterday at the Meadowlands to the Giants 30-10. They were outplayed in pretty much every aspect of the game. The Giants ran all over the Ravens' top ranked rush defense. They threw the ball well, and they shut down the Ravens' running game, putting more pressure on rookie Joe Flacco. But honestly, I'm not that upset.

It can be a difficult task deciding what kind of grade to give each position. Especially when the scoreboard seems to imply a rather close game. Yesterday's game wasn't that close however. While Sports Illustrated's Michael Lombardi gives Flacco a 'C' and Harbaugh 'B', I gave them both higher grades.

Five years and $30 million. That's how long and how much it will take for Joe Flacco to become the face of the Baltimore Ravens franchise.
There's been no secret that Flacco will play understudy for as long as possible. With Brett Favre rumors to the side, that means he has, at the most, this season to prepare while Kyle Boller or Troy Smith gets the nod for opening day....
