Moscow, ID (Sports Network) - Tim Hiller completed 23-of-31 passes for 241 yards and four touchdowns to lead the Western Michigan Broncos to a 51-28 victory over the Idaho Vandals in a non-conference contest.
Brandon West rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown in the win for Western Michigan (2-1).
Nathan Enderle connected on 25-of-39 passes for 334 yards and three touchdowns with one interception in defeat for Idaho (1-2).
Western Michigan took a 7-0 lead just over two minutes into the game, as Louis Delmas intercepted a pass and raced 47 yards for a touchdown.
Idaho tied the score at 7-7 late in the opening frame with a 50-yard touchdown strike from Enderle to Eddie Williams.
Jamarko Simmons gave the Broncos a 14-7 lead in the second quarter, as he hauled in an 18-yard touchdown pass from Hiller.
The third quarter was highlighted by plenty of offense. First, Idaho tied the score at 14-14 with a two-yard touchdown run by Deonte' Jackson. Unfortunately for the Vandals, the Broncos dominated the rest of the frame.
Hiller threw a one-yard touchdown pass to Branden Ledbetter with 9:28 remaining, and West scored on a five-yard run just two minutes later to extend the Western Michigan lead to 28-14.
After a safety was registered by the Broncos' Josh Price, they moved their advantage to 37-14 with a 16-yard scoring strike from Hiller to Ledbetter.
Idaho showed some life early in the fourth quarter by cutting its deficit to 37-21 on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Enderle to Maurice Shaw.
Not to be outdone, Hiller threw yet another touchdown pass to Simmons, this connection covering 28 yards. Then, two-and-a-half minutes later, the Broncos added a 42-yard touchdown run by Drew Burdi, pushing the score to 51-21.
Idaho capped the scoring with an 11-yard touchdown pass from Enderle to Kevin Small.
