This is a really great piece following Kansas coach Mark Mangino's time at KU so far. In it he discusses how he changed the conditions of Kansas' football program from a stagnant, rotting junk pile into the #5 team in the country with record attendance at games.
I really recommend his article so you can see how hard it is to change attitudes in a "basketball school."

Kansas' Mark Mangino. Name a coach who has done a better job this season. Can't do it, can you? His team scored 76 points last Saturday against Nebraska and frankly, could have scored more. And consider that Mangino is doing this in Lawrence — where football players are few and far between and basketball is king — it's even more astounding.
