Is Rodriguez paying Pryor?

If you don't think 5 star players go to WVU look at your profile picture. Noel Divine was a 5 star recruit coming out. If Pryor goes to Michigan it's because they don't have a quarterback on the roster who could run Rodriguez's offense. Plus Ryan Mallett transferred.

Michigan has more tradition which is a turn on for some players and he would be a starter on the Basketball team. If Pryor goes to Michigan he would start his freshman year and with that experience will win at least 1 heisman.

Pryor will be solid at Mich., but the best QB out of this class is E.J. Manuel who is going to Florida State. The guy is sick, and if you don't believe me, check his profile at Rivals

after being owned for most of this decade by ohio state, rodriguez is going to be under a lot of pressure to beat osu in this, his 1st season at michigan....and pryor would go a long way to helping that cause. as an incoming freshman, especially a "stud" prospect...when you can offer the chance to start from day 1 at a major program like michigan, you're going to draw a lot of interest. it's not like we're talking about duke's football program here, we're talking about michigan. if he is paying him, i would hope he does a better job of covering his tracks than steve fisher did when the boosters took care of the "fab 5" and many others during that time. besides, if you think there's a "clean" program in major college football, you're crazy.

Yeah great school in all but not going to start as a great progam because the spread will be new to most players. rods first year at wvu running the spread was a 2-9 bust.

actually, i believe they were 3-8 in rich's 1st season at wvu...and the next season in 2002, they became the biggest turnaround in Big East history, going 9-4. plus, considering white and slaton didn't come around until the 2005 season, he's shown he can recruit, and with the spread offense becoming more and more popular not only at the collegiate level but at the high school level, i don't think he'll have any problems finding talented players to come to michigan and run the spread. especially if he can land pryor...i think it would have a great impact on other players wanting to come in and play right away. also, with the problems Big 10 teams have had defending the spread, he might have more success than you think this season.

Pryor is not a shoo-in to go to Michigan yet. He still has a visit to Oregon where he would fit in quite nicely as a Dennis Dixon type QB. Florida is also in the running.

Everyone close to Pryor believes it is purely between OSU and Michigan. Yeah Florida and Oregon are technically still in the running, but only because he hasn't come out and straight denied them. Also he's only taking a 1 day trip to Eugene, so they better be ready to impress quickly.

It's Michigan...a buddy of mine coaches at Jeannette high school and Pryor wants to start as a fresshman for Michigan. Not too different from 4 years ago when another #1 PA QB prospect started playing at Michigan as a freshman. This system is going to scare away the big time O-line recruits. They want to block in Pro type formations as in days of old Michigan and Big Ten. The type of kid that Rich will recruit are second hand as compared to the illustrious tackles, guards, and centers that have been through Michigan.

something else to consider though...pryor's also a solid basketball recruit and wants to play football and basketball...and if he wants to play for a good college team in both sports, i'd say ohio state, florida, and oregon have a leg up on michigan there. unless i'm mistaken, i don't think the visit to oregon is "officially" schedule either, so i don't believe it's "set in stone" that he's definitely visiting. my gut tells me he's leaning towards osu, but with early playing time always a concern, i still think michigan could land him too. it's up in the air, that's for sure...just the way the recruits like it!

Well, you can count Oregon out...it's down to OSU, Michigan, and Penn State. Personally, I think the PSU consideration is a gesture of good faith towards the home state, and will choose between Ohio State and Michigan. I still get the feeling he's learning towards OSU, because he knows he'll have the opportunity to play for multiple National Championships in his time there.

OSU fans aren't very smart are they, they accuse Michigan of paying players. I thought it was OSU that paid Troy Smith. Besides who cares if they are Pete Caroll had Reggie Bush paid by a scout that he knowing let into his practice session, so if USC and OSU can pay player to get better recruit without any penalty such as probation of the program, loss of national championship (USC), or anything else, then why can't Michigan.

Scolap21... Big Blue has been to its share of BCS games. Just haven't won any. Also played on Jan 1 2008. Don't count them out for 4 straight years. I'll take that bet. Pryor would be a welcome addition. Can't wait for August. Good luck to the Big Ten! Even the dreaded Buckeyes! GO BLUE!
