What we've been fearing and hearing whispers of has come to pass. Browns wide receiver Joe Jurevicius is likely to start the season on the Physically Unable to Perform list, meaning that he is out for at least the first six weeks of the season. WTAM got the story this morning during an interview with Browns GM Phil Savage. James Walker of ESPN reports that this is indeed the third surgery that Joe has had on the injured knee. The first was to fix the injury, and the other two to clean out the staph infection.
The fear is that even after the six weeks is over, Jurevicius' knee might still keep him out of action. Joe had said previously that this would likely be his last year, but the Browns may have to accept that Joe has played his last down as a Cleveland Brown.
