It's official - Steve Spurrier is still a Gator. Sure, he is "officially" the head coach of the South Carolina Gamecocks, but don't ever doubt that Coach Spurrier will always bleed Orange and Blue.
Friday morning, Spurrier approached the podium at the SEC Media Day press conference to discuss the upcoming Gamecock season. First he had to address a serious faux paus. He proceeded to explain how he committed the cardinal sin of NOT voting Tim Tebow to First-Team All-SEC.
"It's my fault" he said several times, and as I listened to him live on ESPN.
I felt that he was truly sorry. It was as if he was begging forgiveness to the Gator Nation, and doing his best to prevent being excommunicated by Pope Urban for slighting his disciple, Timmy Tebow.
He also went on to say that Tim Tebow and Danny Wuerffel are the best QBs in Gator history. He left himself out of the equation, which admittingly he has done before.
