Steelers Draft Round-up

Well, the Steelers once again had a very successful draft while picking last in the 1st round. The Steelers tried to trade up on day 1 to move up in the second round, but couldn’t; instead they traded away their 2nd rounder and ended up with three 3rd round picks. From the outside looking in, it would seem the Steelers addressed all weaknesses and/or holes they may have had, along with adding some guys that may be make the Steelers special teams even scarier. Below is the selections by the Steelers as well as some highlights of their college careers.All in all, I come away with the feeling the Steelers are even better than last year. Don’t forget, the Steelers work is only starting after the draft, as they may be the best team in the league at finding college free-agents that have been left undrafted: ROUND 1 (32nd overall) – DL Evander “Ziggy: Hood,  6-3 300 At Missouri's two pro days, he bettered his performance in nearly every category from the combine -- running a 4.83 in the 40-yard dash and ranked first among the draft's defensive tackles in 10-yard burst (1.62 seconds), 20-yard burst (2.81 seconds) and shuttle run (4.55 seconds).
