I have been writing this article since the start of the 2007 College Football season. This is my sixth edition of it. You can research the other five at my normal "Hangout" Deathrattlesports.com
Well I had one team drop and one join the list here on the sixth week of my Bottom 5 Rankings. Breaking into the bottom 5 is Marshall with a "tasteful" defeat at the hands of Cincinnati. So without any further delay, here is my new Bottom 5 Ranking.
1. Notre Dame "cowering Irish" - Well now the question will be, do I give Notre Dame a "victory" if the game against Michigan is reversed due to their using an ineligible player? I think NOT! So they go across the state to Purdue and show us just what we thought they had. Oh and a quick look at their schedule reveals something very nice for all you "Haters". They play at UCLA, then host Boston College and USC, "woo hoo". Next loss, at UCLA.
2. Florida International "yellow cats" - Ran their National leading streak to 16 games in a 47 - 6 "squeaker" to Middle Tennessee State who came in at 0-5. The Cats are closing the gap on the "domers" with games like this one. They host the "men of troy", no not USC, but Troy State this Saturday for their next loss.
3. Rice "stuffed-owls" - Well I am close to making my own "bottom 5". Reason why, well I had this game, Rice against Southern Mississippi, listed as being played last weekend instead of as this upcoming weekend. Rice should be fresh and ready for action after having the week off following the loss to the Longhorns 58-14. Conference play is next up as they "fly" to Southern Mississippi, who just lost to Boise State 38-16.
4. Temple "owlets" - Increased their record to 0-5 Saturday with a close, tight contest against Army 37-21. Next up is a 1-4 Northern Illinois team that is coming off of loss to Southern Illinois this past Saturday.
5. Marshall "Bumbling Herd" - The latest entry into the bottom 5 replacing the Loserville Cardinals. Marshall was impressive in their loss to Cincinnati loosing by a score of 40-14. Next loss, Memphis.
Dropped out Louisville. On the outside looking in: Northwestern, Iowa State, and Texas.
