Why Ohio State Will Win the National Championship

Ohio State plays a damn good opponent in the LSU Tigers. This is the breakdown-

Coaching- I'd give to Ohio State- Tressel is THE BEST of today.

Mental Advantage- Easily Ohio State

Physical Advantage- Easily Ohio State

Schedule Advantage- With time to rest, it's not problem facing a big time opponent - LSU

"Speed" Advantage- LSU

Homefield- LSU because of location, I wouldn't doubt a showing of about 55% LSU 45% Ohio State. We traveled to Az, La won't be a problem.

Defensive Advantage- Well, our D is incredible, but Dorsey is going to be a major factor here. LSU

Offensive Advantage- Although the Tigers have 30 RBs, Beanie IMO, is still better

Special Teams- Ohio State, we have damn good kickers, and our return game is pretty decent.

X Factors-

Dorsey, Lauriniatis.

Mo Wells (backup to Beanie Wells), Hester

That's my breakdown.

Now, to the real reason we will take this one, as we should've the last.

The underdog has won the majority of the BCS.

Think about it... When you're the underdog, and get to hear how you don't belong on the same field as your opponent, and you hear it for 5-8 weeks, it sets in, we're tired of this.

It's what happened last year. It wasn't the speed of the SEC. The only place the SEC is faster in than the Big Ten is the LineBacker position, other than that, it's all the same.

It wasn't the speed though... The Buckeyes heard it'd be given to them, and it wasn't. It's what happened to Miami, and USC, and Texas. The list goes on. And it will stay this way.

Quite frankly, I'm good being the underdog, especially now.

Les wont lose to OSU. Sorry. You are biased with your picks. OSU has nothing on LSU's physicality. ANd offensive advantage would go to LSU as well. Really you will see everything will go to LSU in the end.

Who has ohio state beat?

Every team they played, except Illinois!

how many teams currently in top 25 has ohio state beat?

Perhaps they aren't in the top 25 because Ohio State beat them. But they had at least 6 teams ranked in the top 25 during the year. For every Akron, you had an equivalent. Yes, LSU playd Va Tech, this year we didn't have a Texas, but a one year lull with USC coming up soon.

I think Gholston will be a huge factor too. Lauranitis AND Gholston... dirty D... I think we DO have the defensive edge my friend. We come from the Big 10, where defense is actually coached.

I have to give them some credit, or it'd look to lopsided. ;)

I don't think I heard Gholston's name called all night.

haha. Two players on your defense doesnt make it the best. Sorry.

Two incredible players, among top notch talent does make it a great defense. I never claimed that they were the best defense in the country, but I don't think it would be too far fetched a claim.

OSU has not nearly played a schedule as strong as LSU. And LSU will have time to get healthy. LSU by 20. Considering how bad they were embarrassed last year they ought be banned a year from BCS competition. Where's there Heisman QB from last year anyway? CFL or Arena league? Bottom line - speed kills.

He's the second QB for the Baltimore Ravens. Besides, whoever said anything about Troy?

We have 7 Heismans, you don't. So I wouldn't go there. Same with National Championships.

LSU doesn't have the speed of the rest of the SEC. The Tigers manhandled people, not beat them with speed.

They will have no speed advantage.

Troy is third string behind Kyle Boller and Steve McNair.

agreed that you busted me talking out my backside a bit. But, I feel some of your assumptions are also over the top. OSU is poised to control the game. If Arkansas ran over them and put up 50, OSU can do the same. OSU is much stronger on D the Arkansas, but the Hogs did improve as the season went on. LSU squeaked by many games this year as well.

Ok, I should have stuck to my guns. I may not know college football inside and out, but it was another ass kicking as I expected to begin with. Well Panthersfan, so much for your breakdown... one thing i see correct "Ohio State plays a damn good opponent in the LSU Tigers". other then that a lot of hot (99%) air. and I was right about your assumptions being way over the top. nearly nothing was as you said it would be.

PS - there only chance is if LadyFanof OSU can distract the LSU players with her baby blues...

So, because LSU has a tough schedule we have to shield our eyes to losses to Arkansas and Kentucky?

Yes, eyes must be shielded except for mine. My eyes are dedicated to the distraction of LSU athletes. :D

Who has OSU played? 6 teams that are above .500 from the big 10 who has 10 bowl eligible teams and 8 teams in bowls and is 33-8 vs non-conf teams. SEC speed? OSU's defense is faster at about 7 positions, tied at 3 and the offenses are about even.
This game will not be lopsided athletically, it will be won in the trenches, it will go to the best coached team that makes the fewest mistakes and something that no one expected will be a major factor.

Only nine of the Big Ten's 44 non-conference games are against teams from the other five major conferences. Maybe that explains that non-conf record. OSU non-conf schedule Washington, Akron, Kent State and Youngstown.

Very true about arkansas and kentucky. They are terrible.... NOT!!! Definitely both better than Illinios.

That comment was very insightful.... NOT!

And Arkansas and Kentucky are in a BCS game? Don't think so. Illinois will have their hands full with a healthy USC, but Arkansas and Kentucky and LSU all lost games they should have won. Ohio State only lost one game they should have won. No one else was even close.

Well take stangs highlight film and times it by 2 and you will get insightful...

If you dont understand LSU wont have problems with the weak OSU team.

All in good time, my friend. We SHALL see, won't we?

And we did.

yea we will, and you should probably be even more worried than you were last year. I had the game 28-7 and I was very nice to give them 7.

In all fairness, they did score 14 points. lol

Just in case you weren't clear on this, you're not God. What your predicitions of games are aren't always right (as stated above). You're obviously very biased. Also, what your game predicitons are is not directly related to how the games will turn out. I'm not worried. I wasn't last year, or the year before, or the year before, etc... I may be a fan, but I don't sweat it. I've seen enough fantastic victories over the years as an Ohio State fan, and one terrible loss isn't going to erase that fact. I don't know what the odds are, and I don't care, honestly.

As I said before, we shall see if LSU will strugle with this weak Ohio State football team.

OSU #50 is a beast! He'd look great in a Bills uniform! This dude looks like the Mcfadden of Linebackers.

I'm not sure OSU has that much of a physical advantage. Only thing is......speed kills. We saw it last year against Florida. LSU just blew Notre Dame away with the speed advantage last year. This will be the quickest team that OSU has faced all year. I think they will be suprised because they don't play any teams with the kind of quicknes at the skill positions that LSU has.

I'm not sure you would want to reference LSU/Notre Dame, given the fact that Notre Dame hasn't won anything important for a very long time... OSU pasted that Notre Dame team a year earlier.

You're probably right. Throw that one out. The SEC is a very speed-laced conference. It will be an interesting game down in the bayou.......LOL.

The Buckeyes will win! Why because they are a team on a "mission" after last years lose to Florida, they have been laughed at and made fun of. They have had their block "O" stomped on and they are pissed off! Will they show this emotion. NO, Tressel doesnt coach and teach his players that, but he does teach them how to win and i think his overall record clearly states that!

Mission not even close to accomplished.

LSU WILL LOSE, AND HERE IS WHY.
1. LES MILES IS A PRETENDER.HE CANT COACH, HE HAS SABANS PLAYERS, AND WILL LEAVE FOR MICHIGAN TO GET SLAPPED BY OSU NEXT YEAR.

2. OSU HAS TO PROVE THEY CAN BEAT AN SEC TEAM. THIS IS A WEAKER TEAM THAN THE FLORIDA TEAM THEY PLAYED LAST YEAR, AND OSU IS DUE AGAINST THE SEC (0-8)

3. LAST YEAR WILL BE HUGE BOTH WAYS. OSU IS GOING TO KEEP HEARING THAT THEY ARE GOING TO LOSE AND IT WILL WORK TO THEIR ADVANTAGE.

THAT BEING SAID, I DONT LIKE EITHER TEAM. I THINK SO. CAL. WOULD BEAT EITHER OF THEM NOW THAT THEY ARE HEALTHY. IF ONLY WE HAD A PLAYOFF =(

Miles just got a big contract extension, so he's not going anywhere next year. Number 2, it will be a home game for LSU. I was there when OU played them for the title in the dome. The noise was deafening because 80 percent of the fans will be LSU fans. If Ohio State can overcome that, that's great. I still think LSU has the better team, played the tougher schedule, and will win at home.

When you are the largest university in the nation with fans that are insane, you tend to travel pretty well.

Lady, I agree. OU fans travel very well, also. It was not fun down there. The fans were very rude down on Bourbon Street and they outnumbered us probably 3 to 1 in the dome. Was intimidating in there for a road team. Good luck!!!

Uhm.. You didn't watch last years game? 70-30% Ohio State Fans.

That was Arizona.

Louisianner ain't that far. Just around yander.

I think it was 70-30 LSU fans tonight. Louisanner may have been too far.

where is the Florida quarterback from last year you know Ted Ginn getting hurt - and the banquet circuit to Trioy doomed the Buckeyes. Lsu isn't even the 2nd best team this year, So. Cal you must be belivin the best recruiting class crap because that is the only class they have- Reggie Bush taken money they would be on probation if they were any other pac ten team. Kentucky in three overtimes and Tennessee gave them the game. South East Conference let them play in the upper midwest in November and see how much speed makes a difference there speed would be to wus out like Dorsey did in the championship.

(0-8) you said it yourself. Might as well make it 0-9.

OSU is 5-1 in BCS Bowls. Whoever said they should be banned from BCS Bowls does not follow CFB closely.

Banned? That's a little bit overboard. Geeze...they just beat Miami a few years ago for the title.

The Big 10 has nothing on the SEC. Ohio State will get spanked again. It wouldn't really matter if it had been Florida again, LSU....hell Georgia woulda ripped 'em a new one too.

Big Ten can't hold a candle to the SEC right now. But, stranger things have happened. I bet LSU fans snatched up a heck of a lot more tickets than OSU. I'd bet on it.

You'll see January 7th. Louisianna might as well be called Ohio.

... except with less swamps.
