Late Saturday night I asked a couple of buddies in the Giant Center press box for top-surface impressions of Carlson's debut; I received "excellent," "a lot of tape-to-tape passes" and "very composed" as descriptions of Carlson's performance. Bears' head coach Bob woods was impressed as well: "I thought he was great. I thought he was very composed. He never panicked. A lot of situations where he took hits to make plays, and he usually made good decisions.
