With National Signing Day in the books, I thought I'd take a look at the 2012 roster in terms of numbers. I made a few assumptions, which I outline below. And I put LSU at 89 scholarships for the fall right now, not counting John Thomas. We always see some natural attrition in the off-season, whether due to injury, grades, discipline, transfer, etc. So LSU seems well positioned to play with a full roster of 85 in 2012, or very close to it. Assuming LSU is at 85 for 2012, it looks like the 2013 recruiting class could be a small one due to having just 11 seniors on the roster. However, if you take a look down the list of juniors you will see a significant number of players that could be worthy of early entry to the NFL. That could bump that number as high as 17, and I suspect LSU will end up signing at least 20 when it's all said and done.
