Fox Sports West:
Someone is running misdirection vs. USC, and not on the football field.
AD Pat Haden said on Monday the school was alerted that individuals posing as university representatives had reached out to two coaches regarding the Trojans' head coachingposition, including ex-NFL coach Tony Dungy.
Dungry, a current NBC broadcaster, said ontoday's 'Dan Patrick Show' that he had no interest in the Trojans job but had been contact about the job opening.
"Tony's discussion on the radio today of being contacted by USC was acomplete surprise to us," Haden said. "Sowere the calls made to the Broncos. I can assure you no authorizedrepresentative of USC or our athletic department made these calls.
"As I said last week, we will not comment on every name that comes out.It would be a disservice to our players and coaches, who are devotingeverything they have into the remainder of our season. We have ahead coach right now in Ed Orgeron. We have not offered the job toanyone."

A lot has happened since the last game USC played. It was still September when ASU defeated USC. It was still September when Lane Kiffin was terminated. With the bye week, it seems like it all took place ages ago. The extra time provides a time for reflection and a time for looking forward.
USC’s first five games of the season were also Kiffin’s last five games as USC’s head...
LOS ANGELES -- The last week has been an eventful one for the USC football team. For receiver Robby Kolanz, it's been all of that and more.
On a personal level, there isn't much about the experience that he would change.
"It feels like I'm just a kid having fun," said Kolanz, who has gone from a little known walk-on to a hot topic in press conferences.
Apparently even people who don't work for Southern California are trying to hire the Trojans' next football coach.

Who will be the next supposedly coaching candidate at USC? AD Pat Haden is claiming that potential candidates are being called by non-USC officials for the next USC head coach position. Tony Dungy was the latest to be contacted and has stated that 1. He was not interested in the position and 2. That he was reached out to by an individual acting on his own and not an approved...
Tony Dungy joined the Dan Patrick Show on Monday and revealed that USC had reached out to his people to gauge his interest in taking their open coaching job.
Predictably, Dungy has zero interest in taking the job, but that’s not the story here. The real story here is that a school that has the history and resources of USC to lure almost any coach they want would be content with...

USC AD Pat Haden has been quietly going about his coaching search since firing Lane Kiffin at the airport. The first name that we have heard he reached out to though, has turned him down. Tony Dungy said this morning that he turned them down this week.
Tony Dungy told us that USC reps contacted him about the head coaching job this week. He said no. @dpshow
