Coming off a disappointing 20-23 Sugar Bowl loss to Michigan, Virginia Tech head coach Frank Beamer wants to shelve football momentarily and focus on the culinary arts. This summer, Coach Beamer anticipates opening his new restaurant, Beamer’s 25, in Roanoke, Virginia, anchored next to the newly renovated apartments in the Lofts at West Station. A soft opening was held on Wednesday night where it was announced that Beamer’s 25 will be open to the public later in June. The “25” will represent 25 craft beers on tap complemented by an array of local fare. The restaurant will have indoor and outdoor patio seating for approximately 100-150 patrons.
