Texas A&M finally got some good news Thursday as far as early entrants for the NFL Draft. Junior offensive tackle Jake Matthews, who was projected to be a first-round pick, has opted to return to A&M for his senior season. "After careful consideration, much thought and prayer, I am happy to announce that I am returning to Texas A&M for my senior season," Matthews said in a statement. "There are a few things that really swayed my decision. Number one is the opportunity to play with my younger brother, Mike (a sophomore lineman). That opportunity doesn't come around very often. The college experience is also a great time and with our team coming back next season, I think we have a chance to be very special." Jake Matthews, an All-America pick, started all 13 games for A&M at right tackle this season. Texas A&M head coach Kevin Sumlin said the Aggies will move Jake Matthews to left tackle this fall, where he'll replace Luke Joeckel. Joeckel, who won the Outland Trophy, decided earlier this week to skip his senior season at A&M. He's expected to be a top-10 pick. Defensive end Damontre Moore, who is also expected to be a first rounder, made the decision to skip his senior season last week. Jake Matthews is the son of NFL Hall of Famer Bruce Matthews. His brother Kevin played at A&M and played now for the Tennessee Titans. "I am excited that Jake has decided to come back for his senior season," Sumlin said. "Not only because he is one of the top offensive linemen in the country, but because of his approach and leadership in our locker room."
