Stop me if you've heard this headline before - XYZ Hawkeye running back has announced his intention to transfer from the university and the football program. Well, here you go with another one of those headlines as Greg Garmon has told the Hawkeyes football staff that he will transfer out of the program.  If you're keeping count that's seven running backs transferring out of the Iowa program in just a three year span. Unlike the majority of those transfers his isn't due to some off the field legal issues or because of injury issues, Garmon cited his lack of faith in the direction of the offense under Greg Davis as the offensive coordinator.  AIRBHG is becoming an offseason ritual and one that is really starting to kill any and all confidence fans have in Kirk Ferentz's team. It's easy to argue that the decline in Iowa record and production can be directly correlated to the loss of those 7 running backs. It got to the point this offseason where they had just one scholarship running back on their roster. I don't think I'm telling you anything you don't know here, but that situation ain't good. Garmon was a freshman this past season and had just 122 yards on 38 carries. Sure, his lose isn't major in terms of his on the field production, but it's a serious blow to a team that is in need of some sort of continuity and depth at the position, PERIOD.  He has said he doesn't have an immediate destination for his transfer.
