San Diego Chargers general manager was in attendance for the Wisconsin Badgers Pro Day to take another look at defensive end JJ Watt. Watt is one of the top prospects that MAY be available when the Bolts pick with the 18th pick. He stands at 6’5″ and 290 pounds and would be a perfect fit in the Chargers 3-4 defensive scheme. He is a tenacious defender and just kills it against the run and would provide a lot of energy to the defense.
J.J. Watt only participated in agility drills at his Pro Day thanks to his stellar NFL combine performance. Watt finished in the top five for every D-line drill at the combine, including an impressive 4.76 40-yard dash time for a 290-pound lineman.
“Hopefully we quieted some of the doubters who doubted my athletic ability,” Watt said. “I’m very proud of how hard I work, but at the same time that doesn’t discount any amount of talent or athleticism that I have. Just because I’m a big Wisconsin kid doesn’t mean I’m not athletic.”

Our Chargers have shown that they are not afraid of making a move up in the order to get our guy. We moved up in the draft last year chasing after running back Ryan Mathews.
A defensive front of JJ Watt, Antonio Garay, and Luis Castillo would be awesome and each guy could take up multiple blockers which would allow our linebackers Shaun Phillips and Larry English (hopefully) to make plays in the backfield.
