It has been well documented at this point that the Crimson Tide fan base was keen on Bama running the ball on fourth and goal instead of having A.J. McCarron throw the ball. Obviously the ball was picked off, and their shot at beating Texas A&M and staying undefeated went out the window. It wasn’t just your run of the mill Alabama fan that wanted them to run the ball though, even the Alabama Governor Robert Bentley chimed in on the matter, ”I would actually have run the ball for four straight times.” It’s obviously far too late for second-guessing, and you can drive yourself insane when you go over various “what if” scenarios, but I can’t say I disagree. In a short field like that it’s going to be tough to get the pass play you want, especially when you don’t have a receiver like Calvin Johnson or A.J. Green. Eddie Lacy is an absolute tank and even though he was stuffed on second and goal, I still would have given him a shot at it. You have the best offensive line in the country, I would have just tried to get a good push up front and get it in the end zone with some old fashioned Power-I football.H/T: CBS Sports

Robert Bentley, the Governor of Alabama, took time out of his hectic gubernatorial work schedule to question Nick Saban's play-calling in Alabama's loss to Texas A&M.
The Alabama Crimson Tide lost their first game since November 5th of 2011 last weekend to the Texas A&M Aggies and their Heisman candidate quarterback Johnny Manziel. Now people are questioning Nick Saban and his play-calling. Even the Governor of Alabama, Robert Bentley seems to think Saban didn’t know what he was doing when he allowed AJ McCarron to pass the ball from the...
Another day at the office for Alabama quarterback A.J. McCarron and the Crimson Tide football team as they subdued the outmanned Catamounts of Western Carolina 49-0 at Bryant-Denny Stadium on a beautiful, bright sunny day in Tuscaloosa. Scoring touchdowns was never in doubt against the now 1-10 (0-8 SoCon) Southern Conference Football Championship Subdivision school.

Hope you're happy, Coach Sumlin: This game was over before it began. One of the many FCS Sothern Conference teams the SEC will square off with Saturday, the Crimson Tide got back on track after its upset at the hands of Texas A&M, taking out the Catamounts, 49-0. It was Nick Saban's defense's third shutout of the season, the first...
After suffering a stunning upset loss at home to Texas A&M last weekend, Alabama has likely erased its national championship hopes for the 2012 season. As you may know, the people of Alabama take their football kind of seriously. Fans have not reacted well to the loss to the Aggies. Neither has the governor of Alabama.
Earlier this week, Alabama Gov. Robert Bentley was asked...

After a tough two-week stretch, the fourth-ranked Crimson Tide must refocus, regroup and regain its identity Saturday against an FCS opponent. As head coach Nick Saban said this week, "I don’t think that we need to be worried about who we’re playing as much as we need to worry about how we’re playing."
Quinton Patton La. Tech Today is the release of the College Football Universe Offense All-America Team and my official nominations for the FWAA All-America Team. Yulee (Fla.) High School running back Derrick Henry entered Friday evening needing just 102 rushing yards to pass Ken Hall for the national career-rushing yards record. Not only did Henry smash that mark with 482 yards on the ground off of a whopping 58 carries, but he also scored six touchdowns as well. QUICK HITS: After two tough weeks in a row (LSU, Texas A&M), the fourth-ranked Crimson Tide got some active recovery this weekend by shutting out the Catamounts.
Alabama’s offense scored the first six times it got the football and the defense also contributed a touchdown; and even with the game shortened by running the clock after incomplete passes in the second half and Bama playing back-ups more than half the game, the Crimson Tide had an easy time of it Saturday.
Alabama’s 49-0 win over Western Carolina was the Crimson Tide’s 10th victory of the season. It is the 32nd season in Bama football history in which 10 or more victories have been recorded, second best in history to Oklahoma, which has 33 not including this season.
Alabama junior guard Trevor Releford had been a mystery non-starter through the first three games of the season. He got his first start of the year in the finals of the 2K Sports Classic benefiting Wounded Warriors Project in Madison Square Garden in New York Friday night and responded with an MVP performance in leading Bama to the tournament championship.
Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron was named one of 15 semifinalists for the Walter Camp Award (best player) and one of five finalists for the Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award (best fourth- or fifth-year quarterback) Wednesday.
