Vanderbilt (17-20, 6-9) travels to Tuscaloosa this weekend to take on the Alabama Crimson Tide (14-24, 4-11). The Tide recently split a Wednesday doubleheader against Mississippi Valley State after being swept at the top team in the West, LSU.
Many years ago when Vanderbilt was frequently an early season football opponent for Alabama, the feeling was that if the Crimson Tide was off to a poor start that there was nothing better to cure the ails than a game against the Commodores. Unfortunately, that is not necessarily true in baseball.
