TUCSON, Ariz. -- Safety Patrick Onwuasor has been removed from Arizona's football roster after being charged with four felonies, three drug related.
The charges include possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of marijuana for sale, possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony drug offense and possession of narcotics paraphernalia, according to the a news release from the City of Tucson.
We are aware of the situation with Patrick Onwuasor, Arizona coach Rich Rodriguez said in a statement. He has been removed from the program.
It was the only statement or comment made through the University of Arizona.
The news comes just three days before UA and Pac-12 Conference teams meet in Los Angeles for the annual media day.
Onwuasor was arraigned on Monday after an investigation into a home invasion in April.
Onwuasor, from Inglewood, Calif, had 36 tackles last season and was expected to compete for a starting spot this season.
