ASU Linebacker Has Some Issues

Arizona State has one of the nation’s most talented linebackers in sophomore Vontaze Burfict. Problem is, he might also be one of the dumbest players in the country as well. That stupidity has led Sun Devils coach Dennis Erickson to bench Burfict for the start of the team’s game against Washington this week. Burfict’s penchant for playing dirty and getting inexplicable personal foul penalties has hurt Arizona State far too much this season. On Saturday, Burfict (No. 7 in the video below) head-butted Oregon State quarterback Ryan Katz after a play was blown dead. The head-butting came completely out-of-nowhere, and should have gotten Burfict ejected. On top of that, there was a play where Burfict clearly grabbed and pushed the facemask of lineman Grant Johnson, then attempted to choke him without paying any attention to where the ball was.
