According to a report from Orangebloods.com, 5-star defensive tackle A’Shawn Robinson has indicated that he will not sign with the University of Texas, instead opting to play college football for Nick Saban in Tuscaloosa..
OB has confirmed that A’Shawn Robinson has informed the Texas coaches in an in-home visit that he will sign with Alabama on Wednesday.

While it is not entriely surprising it does come as a bit of a shock, especially since Robinson has maintained his commitment to Texas since he verbally committed back in February of 2012. He took an official visit to Alabama on January 18th and followed up with an OV to Texas a week later. There were concerns that Robinson was leaning towards USC but those soon dissipated after the US Army All-American Bowl game when Alabama became the #1 significant threat to flip Robinson’s commitment from Texas.

Nick Saban has achieved a lot of success while head coach of the Alabama Crimson Tide. He’s won multiple BCS National Championships and achieved a lot of success in recruiting. Winning and this large increase in money definitely had something to do with it.

Its tough to improve on perfection, but to hear Nick Saban talk, the Alabama Crimson Tide was far from perfect last year. Next years squad wont be perfect either, even if they win every game by 50. Thats Saban. Still, the future looks bright again in Tuscaloosa as the Tide get ready to suit up for the spring.

ATHENS, Ga. – The Alabama women’s basketball team chipped a 17-point deficit down to four but was unable to get any closer as 13th-ranked Georgia held on for the 65-59 victory on Thursday night in Stegeman Coliseum. With the loss, the Crimson Tide drops to 12-9 on the season and 2-6 in the Southeastern Conference while the win puts the Lady Bulldogs at 18-3 overall and 6-2 in the league.
Despite recording its best score of the season, No. 5 Alabama suffered its first loss of the season at the hands of rival No. 8 Georgia Saturday. The Bulldogs edged out the Crimson Tide by a score of 197.500-196.950.
