New York-based sports talk radio host Mike Francesa is often credited with being the “Godfather of Sports Talk” in the area– and some believe, nationally.
Francesa– as any good sports talk guy does– has as many detractors as believers, however, and this call certainly added to the latter.
In a short call with a Rutgers fan, Francesa immediately discredits Rutgers, saying it isn’t ”a pimple on anyone’s rear end” and then hangs up on the caller when the caller states his case that he is just trying to make a point and has been on hold for 20 minutes.

If Mike Francesa’s good at anything, it appears to be alienating one of the largest emerging fan bases in the Northeast.
