Michigan quarterback Denard Robinson got just about the biggest shout-out one can get in America when a very special visitor to the University of Michigan campus in Ann Arbor, MI dropped his name in a speech. The visitor in question was President Barrack Obama.
“Where’s Denard? I thought I read that he was in the house,” Obama said as he started a speech on the affordability of college.
And it didn’t stop there. A student hollered “Denard Robinson in 2012!” Obama replied: “He’s got to graduate before he runs for president. There’s an age limit.”
He finished the thought by playing to the Wolverine crowd. “It’s good to be in the home of the Sugar Bowl champions. And with Denard coming back, it will be a team to be reckoned with,” he said.
Robinson thanked the President for the shout-out later through a statement released by the University.
