The latest BCS rankings are out. The national title picture got a bit clearer with Florida's loss to Georgia, thus greatly decreasing their odds of playing for the national title. Thanks to another blow out victory over an excellent opponent, Kansas State has moved into the national championship game. Despite being tied at number one in the computer average with the Wildcats, the Notre Dame Fighting Irish sit at third in the overall poll, behind Alabama and Kansas State. Oregon sits at four due to their strength of schedule. Full rankings are posted after the jump.   BCS Ranking School Harris Poll Coaches' Poll Computer Ranking 1 Alabama 1 1 3 2 Kansas State 3 3 1 3 Notre Dame 4 4 1 4 Oregon 2 2 5 5 LSU 5 5 6 6 Georgia 6 6 7 7 Florida 8 8 4 8 South Carolina 11 11 9 9 Florida State 7 7 21 10 Louisville 10 10 13 11 Oregon State 13 13 8 12 Oklahoma 12 12 10 13 Clemson 9 9 21 14 Stanford 14 15 11 15 Mississippi State 15 18 16 16 Texas A&M 18 16 18 17 USC 16 17 19 18 Texas Tech 19 20 12 19 Boise State 17 14 23 20 Nebraska 21 21 15 21 West Virginia 20 19 17 22 Arizona NR NR 14 23 Texas 22 22 20 24 Oklahoma State 25 24 25 25 Louisiana Tech 24 23 31 All four teams should be favored in every game they play going into Bowl season. Many BCS experts believe that Oregon's back loaded schedule will allow them to jump Kansas State and Notre Dame, given their persistent lead in the human votes.  Alabama has the hardest slate of games to play. Having to play LSU in Baton Rouge back to back with Texas A&M is a tricky one-two punch for Alabama. While Alabama will be favored in both, it would not be the most shocking thing in the world for a Alabama team, fresh off a very physical defensive struggle with the Tigers, to have trouble defending Texas A&M's high tempo air raid.  Alabama @LSU Texas A&M Western Carolina Auburn SEC Title Game Kansas State Oklahoma State @TCU @Baylor Kansas Notre Dame Pittsburgh @Boston College Wake Forest @USC Oregon @USC @California Stanford @Oregon State Pac 12 Championship Personally, it seems that Notre Dame and Kansas State are hurting each other in the human polls. If one of them lost a game, I think the result would be a lot of voters who do not respect Oregon's out of conference schedule picking that team.  At this point, despite their strength of schedule advantage, it seems like Notre Dame's only real shot at jumping into the national title will require USC or Stanford upsetting Oregon. The win would not only knock Oregon out of the title picture, but it would also give Notre Dame a big boost in their strength of schedule and help move them past Kansas State. USC beating Oregon would be the best case scenario, as it would give Notre Dame a chance to beat a newly rejuvenated Trojan squad that could win over a lot of the human voters. Sadly, USC is going to be a severe long shot, given how utterly wretched they are on defense, especially against a running quarterback. Pencil in Alabama versus Oregon for the national title. We don't have to like it as Notre Dame fans, but unless chaos intervenes, we're going to have to live with it. A playoff can't get here soon enough.
