BCS Standings: The Final Say So, Why?

Let the debate begin now that Alabama has defeated LSU for the National Championship. As confusing as it is, should Oklahoma State be given consideration or should we just go for the best two out of three and let LSU and Alabama decide it. After Alabama knocked off LSU, the door was opened for a potential split national champion. The voters disagreed. In the AP poll Alabama received 55 first-place votes, LSU (1) and Oklahoma State (4). Both Alabama and Oklahoma State finished the season with a record of 12-1 and had five wins over ranked teams. Despite the want and need for a playoff system in college football we are still stuck with the BCS Standings that determine the two teams that qualify to play in the BCS National Championship Game.
