What a day for Indiana Hoosiers’ quarterback Ben Chappell. In his final game as a College Football quarterback, Chappell had a good, record-breaking day with the Hoosiers. This helped as IU beat the Purdue Boilermakers for the Old Oaken Bucket in a 34-31 victory. It marked the first team since 1996 that the Hoosiers beat Purdue in an away game. IU now ends the year with a 5-7 record and bump Purdue below them to 4-8. IU also won their first Big Ten game of the year, snapping a twelve-game losing-streak against the Big Ten teams. IU was close to having their first winless season in the conference since 1995. Good thing they won this. With nine seconds to go in the game, kicker Mitch Ewald kicked in a field goal to send the game into overtime. It was the first overtime in this series’ 113-game history.
